That sounds good to me - Josh Dubovie
dinle
19 year-old Josh Dubovie is from a small town in Essex, called Laindon.
Josh debuted as a performer with an after-school stage club, aged just 9. And when he was 15 he was given the part of Enjolras in the school production of Les Miserables , but as he had never sung before he went to see a vocal coach for some help. The vocal coach was amazed at his natural ability and encouraged him to concentrate on singing. Josh didn’t need telling twice as he had always preferred music and performing to everything else.
Josh fell in love with singing ‘swing’ and his coach encouraged him to pursue this genre of music, which he has done with a passion.
His voice is his main instrument but Josh is a keen all round musician and plays keyboards, drums and guitar, all of which he has learned by ear. He is currently trying to master the harmonica! And like many musicians of his generation he has a bedroom-recording studio where he tries out new ideas and is starting to hone his own song writing skills.
Many people have asked him if Josh Dubovie is his stage name, but it isn’t. It’s printed that way on his passport and he is part of the only family of Dubovies in the UK!
In 2010 Josh was approached by his agent to audition for the BBC’s YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU show. His audition was, of course, successful and Josh performed the Jason Donovan classic TOO MANY BROKEN HEARTS as well as taking part in an ABBA medley, with all the other contestants.
Having been selected as one of the final three acts during the show, Josh then performed the Pete Waterman, Mike Stock and Steve Crosby penned song, THAT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, before being chosen by the public phone vote as the UK’s 2010 Eurovision representative!
